Two cookies, only if you say yes.
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages help people. It is off by default — nothing loads and no cookie is set unless you click Accept. Decline and the site behaves as though Google does not exist.
How the choice works
On your first visit a bar appears at the bottom of the screen with two buttons. Until you press one, no analytics script is downloaded and no cookie is written. That is a deliberate design choice: many sites load their tracking first and ask afterwards, which makes the question meaningless.
If you decline, we remember only that you declined, and nothing from Google is ever requested. If you accept, the two cookies below are set and we can see aggregate page traffic.
Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under mb-analytics-consent. It is not a cookie, it never leaves your device, and we cannot read it.
What is set if you accept
- _ga — distinguishes one browser from another so repeat visits are not counted as new people. Expires after 2 years.
- _ga_<container id> — keeps session state for the Google Analytics 4 property. Expires after 2 years.
Both are first-party cookies set by Google Analytics 4, operated by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC. We have IP anonymisation enabled, we do not use Google Signals, we run no advertising or remarketing features, and we do not share the data with any advertising network. Analytics data is retained for 14 months and then deleted.
What we still don't do
No advertising pixels, no Meta or LinkedIn tags, no remarketing, no session recording, no cross-site identifiers, no profile of you as an individual. Nothing here follows you to another website.
Changing your mind
You can switch either way at any time.
Declining after having accepted stops any further collection. To remove cookies already set, clear site data for this domain in your browser settings.
Things we link to
- WhatsApp — our WhatsApp button opens WhatsApp, operated by Meta under its own terms and privacy policy. Once you are in that conversation, Meta's rules apply, not ours.
- Your email client — an email link opens your own mail application. Nothing is sent until you send it.
- Google Fonts — typefaces are served from Google's font CDN, which receives your IP address as part of any ordinary web request. No cookie is set.
Server logs
Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — IP address, timestamp, page requested, browser type. These are generated automatically for security and troubleshooting, are not combined with analytics data, and are discarded by the host after a short period.
